I have a small form factor PC with a 80GB 2.5" harddrive. I purchased a 320GB 2.5" harddrive to replace it. I also have Ghost software to move the contents of the old drive to the new drive. My problem is finding the right hardware cable that will allow me to connect both drives to PC at the same time in order to ghost the contents. Does anyone know what type of cable I could use, or any other idea on how to copy the contents of one drive to the other. I have attached pictures of the harddrives connection area.
I think Ghost should give you the option to make a backup in ISO format (or its own format?) or the option to copy to another folder and then you can connect the new hard drive and copy it back.
Hello The connection is a SATA one. But as the above post, GHOST will let you save the image to a CD/DVD. So if may just be best to save the data to DVD's disk. Personal, i would only backup my personal data and start again, reinstalling all of the software, it will work better, get rid of all the cr@p that windows has left all over the place Regards Andy
