Hoi all, first post and already a dumb question i guess. Sorry about that. I bought the: BFG GeForce GTX 280 OC 1024MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail My motherboard: Asus M2N32-SLi-DLX WiFi nForce 590 SLi (Socket AM2) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard Now if I read the specs and they both should go fine together. Please doublecheck if you like. Problem is that the manual of the 280gtx is as helpful as reading the chinese version. Unfortunately the fan of the 280gtx doesn't start spinning although I think I connected it correctly. Furthermore the monitor doesn't receive any data from the card. It is just blinking in red. There is a 6 pin and a 8 pin power connector on this card. Dumb question but do I need to plugin power to both or just one of them? There is a converter to 4pin molkex power connector as well. Do I maybe need to plugin power to both molkexes? Never installed a card like this before as I always sticked to cards with no own power connectors. It is a real monster. Please. Any help would be grately appreciated. Thanks!
Your power supply should have at least one pci-e connector, that goes into the card. Not sure which is which (6 pin or 8 pin) but yes you need to connect both of them, so the other one will use the molex connector that came with the card, it should be 2 molex going into a pci-e plug. If you power supply has two pci-e connectors use them both and forget about the molex. Then install drivers for the card: Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers edit: if it's a new high end psu it will have 2 pci-e power connectors that both fit 6 or 8 pin (you can clip the extra 2 pins on or off). Otherwise you will need the molex addapters. The card also needs a lot of power, I think it needs a psu minimum of about 550W.
