Hi, I bought a couple of new things to upgrade my pc but i have been having alot of problems with it.

The new pc(im running vista ultimate 32bit)

    mobo: Asus M3N-H-HDMI
    cpu: AMD Athlon™ 64 6000+AM2
    ram: Kingston DDR2 2G (Single stick)PC6400 800Mhz
psu: 450w (not sure who made it.)
video card: XFX 8600GTS XXX 256MB (ive had this one for a while)

I do have some knowledge on how to assemble computers as i have assembled quite a few successfully, mine was no exception, i put everything in its place .

Now to the problem, the pc will not start up, I have check everything and could not find anything wrong. So i checked if the cpu was properly in, it was but i found that 3 pins were missing from the chip, this worried me so i checked around the net and people say that some pins dont matter.

the question is, is it the cpu causing all the problems?? because i don't want to go and replace my motherboard or ram because the cpu seemed like it was the only one with something wrong with it. I called the company i purchased it from and they said that they might be able to replace it or send it back to amd.

Missing pins could definitely be the problem here or the unbranded but not sure about that. My suggestion would be try another motherboard or CPU if available (try asking a friend), else would be best to get a CPU replacement.

While some pins might not matter, you could be missing the important ones?

Missing Pins? I wouldn't stick with a computer that had pins missing on it's CPU even if everything worked fine...
