Had an issue with what I believe was the virtual memory. This was due to storing too many homemade videos on my computer. (I tape my grandson's & son's go-kart races).

I have since corrected this issue and have 28 GB of free space on my hard drive (out of 111 GB) Since it was down to only a couple of hundred MBs of space, I believe my computer automatically made some adjustments for it. I too may have deleted something in error, when I was trying to get more space. At one point my computer wouldn't even recognize my cd or dvd drives.

I tried to download a easy photo uploader from a reliable site but was unable to. When I checked the requirements it listed Outlook Express as one of the requirements! Who knew? I deleted Outlook Express when I was trying to gain free space, since I never use it.

Now I find that I cannot download ANYTHING . Zip Zero Nada.

Can someone please tell me how I can correct this without losing all my info.

do you have a download manager installed? if so you can copy/paste the link and download.

Looks as if during your clean out you have deleted some important files.

Do you get error messages or something?

It usually just says it was unable to dl it (specifying the name) and than under that it says IE was unable to locate the file or something similiar.

Not sure about the DL Manager but using search doesn't even list some of the files on my system. Its a NTFS or something like that.

I know I used to have a dl manager.

My recycle bin is back on my desktop (it was gone for a while) but when I try to click on it nothing happens. When I try to view the properties it tells me "the properties for this item are not available".

Also, system tells me I need to defrag when I analze it. Yet when I try to defrag it says "Cannot defragment this READ-ONLY Volume (c:)"

Most of the fragments are due to the videos going into several different locations.
