    Hey guys,

My computer has been running just fine in the same configuration for about 3 months now. Last night, while I wasn't even using it, it just turned off. I thought maybe it had over heated, and turned itself off since I'd left it on for a long time and had been running some pretty graphics intensive games. I let it sit for a few hours, and I still can't get it to turn on at all. :(

My first assumption is that the power supply died. I DO get the green LED on my mobo to stay lit when the power supply is switched on, and when I hit the power button some lights blink for a split second, and some don't. I don't get any fan movement at all.

Do you guys think it's the power supply? What other hardware problems could be causing this? I've never run into a situation before where my computer simply wouldn't turn on, which makes it really tough for me to figure out whats wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

I realized posting my specs might help out:

The PSU is a Coolmax 450 watt power supply

    AMD 6400+
    ZOTAC Geforce 9800GTX
    4 Gigs of RAM
    Mobo: ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe

    #1 - power supply..
    #2 - bad ram
    #3 - video adapter
    #4 - Hard drive
    #5 - Motherboard
hope it is not the last one, I would check the power supply..

Well, it's hard to tell for sure, but yeah, start with the PSU and work from there with parts swapping.

PSU would be my first guess too. I'd follow B's advice, and also examine the motherboard for blown capacitors:

...usually they look like that and leak from the top, but sometimes they leak from the bottom. Others don't leak at all, but just bulge out.

When you try to turn it on do you hear any noise like a fan or anything or is it completely dead?
