I posted an avatar on a site I frequent. I can see the avatar when I use my laptop but when I use my desktop it is no longer there. I can see other peoples avatars. I use Firefox and Photobucket. Does anyone know why? Thanks! Clint
very odd, consider re-installing firefox but before clear your cache tools -> clear private data -> tick the "cache" tickbox -> click "clear private data now"
Your suggestion didn't help. Since my first post I discovered I could not see other pictures I had posted. I also tried to play a video came and received the following. Exception in D3D Unable to create IDirect3DDevice9 Which makes me think I need a new video card. I ordered one about an hour ago. I will let you know if that solves my problem when I get it installed. Thanks!
does sound like the graphics hard gone bad! another thing would have been to try "live" linux cd e.g. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LiveCD simply burn the cd, boot from it, if everything seems to be working fine. you could try reinstalling xp as something could be corrupt.
I replaced a VisionTek 1550 With a GeForce FX5500 and I still can't see the avatar or the pictures I posted. Guess it is time for a new computer.
can you see pictures on other sites? slow down, you don't need a new PC just yet, try a little more to see if you can fix the problem. try-reinstalling your OS.
I can see other pictures on the same site, I just can't see pictures I posted. Like I said before, I can see all the pictures with my laptop. Yes I can see pictures on other sites with the desktop.
sounds like messed up settings, which browser do you use? if you use IE then try adding the site to trusted zone or even better get [google]firefox[/google] edit: forgot you were using FF
ok go to Firefox -> Preferences -> Content -> "Automatically Load Images" should be ticked, click "Exceptions", here you might see the site listed, as you might have accidentally blocked images from that site?
Thank you kind Sir! I don't know how it happened but Photobucket was blocked. It's a good day, I learned something new.
