I am confused on building or buying. I will have about 400 to spend to either upgrade my old media computer by buying a new cheap model and adding a video card with my old capture card. Or starting with a new HDMI motherboard and building on it? I am not even fixed on the motherboard. I just want to get the most for my money. I don’t have a SATA HDD and was wondering if I could use my older IDE HDD (the ribbon cable) on a new motherboard as well? I know I’ll have to reload my OS. Is this possible to build on my budget?
if you benefit from having HDMI then that probably could be a better choice, else better video card will always help with games. You should be able to use IDE hard drive on new motherboard, as more often than not it comes with with a SATA to IDE converter.
Thanks, I feel really torn on a motherboard that is equipted with the HDMI port or buying a videocard that supports my TV and Games. I'm not much of a gammer so maybe for money sake i'll just settle for a motherboard that has a very good on board graphics.
