Recently started having trouble with an online game I play, had to uninstall it and now cant reinstall it. Some one mentioned it might be my hard drive or RAM failing. I tried to download a memtest program and it went to a blue screen with this error: Stop: 0X0000008E(0XC0000005,0XA886EA6F,0XBA5882A8,0X00000000) kmixer.sys - Address A886EA6F base at A885B000, Datestamp 48025463 Does that mean anything to anyone? Is it my RAM?
Did you run the tool from your OS or prior to booting into your OS (like from a boot floppy or CD)? And what about installing other programs? Did you run some HDD check utility (as in the OS as prior to booting into it)?
It wasnt memtest, something like it, but when I try to download anything big it always has errors. I did run memtest from memtest.org and I got 3 passes and 3000+ errors. SO I guess it is my Ram. Checked my HD to see if it was that first and everything came up ok with it. I am just going to change out my Ram since it is so cheap right now. Hopefully that will fix my issues.
