Hi, i am about to buy a new pc. Of the models that i am considering one motherboard supports Hybrid sli and the other doesnt. I will have a 9800 GT that supports hybrid. Is HSLI effective. Would I notice the difference over a non supported board. Many thanks John
Not at the moment Ferg. I am buying two pcs, one for each of my kids and both will have 9800gt in them. I am thinking that come upgrade time then one machine would ideally go SLI at no extra cost and the other a new spec card. That would save binning two 9800gt's right? I have looked into Hybrid sli and its not sli at all. Its a feature of the motherboard chip developed by Nvidea to boost compatible cards such as the 9800 gt and power save when the card is idle. I need to find out if the MB supports sli or crossfire but i doubt it at budget spec. Thanks very much for your reply. John
Yeah i'd doubt it too, but you never know - one of my clients got an asus sli board in a fairly low budget tower (around the 600 mark if i remember correctly)
