I am looking into the SSD drives. In everyones opinion is it worth it to buy a small one (>20gb) and just load the OS onto it?

Will I notice any major speed differences in the speed of the way my OS runs?

Ive been looking into them too mate, i think it is easily the best option if your really trying to push the limit of system speeds but probably not worth it unless you are already at the top of the hardware limits in the rest of your PC.

sorry ferg, but i must disagree (at least for a few years

in theory, it's a very good idea but in theory only for probably 2 to 3 years time i think, in my opinion hybrib drives are a more realistic real world solution, i'd probaby suggest sticking with traditional HDD until hybrib drives take over

i think hybrib drives utilize a traditional HDD and use SSD as cache & some drives also have battery backed up RAM (hybrid RAM disk)

summery: wait and watch the market & buy something when you think it the right time
