hey guys im really in need of help, ive been looking for a few days now and i have come to the conclusion its a whole new mobo i'll need.
i was updating all my drivers the other morning, and then i saw "bios" so,stupidly, without knowing,i downloaded the latest bios n ran the exe,n voila laptop froze up,powerbutton wouldnt work,so i had to unplug the powerpack n take out the battery, and now it wont start.
i now know i shouldnt have touched the bios, there was no need for me to do it,but it needs to be fixed now.
SO my question is,will i need to buy a new mobo? or would replacing the CMOS battery help at all? FN+ESC dosnt work at all,ive tried all sorts, any sensible help would be greatly appreciated =)
    Laptop is: acer aspire 5315
if you need more info please leave a comment,
    thanks in advance =)

Eeep sounds like a bad flash - i always avoid windows based flashing utils for this very reason.

If it really is as dead as you say contact the manufacturer - they may offer some sort of service to replace / reflash the actual chip.

Always back up your files before sending it in for a service however - they nearly always send a laptop back blank.

EDIT - when you say won't start how far does it get? Any POST at all? Access to the bios? Does your laptop have a floppy drive?
