    Change logo/banner on VBulletin forum

    I need some help to change the logo/banner on a VBulletin forum as
    it just keeps coming up 'fail' when I try.

    I tried the logo on the VB demo and it was no bother at all - uploaded quite easily -
    so I am wondering why it won't go onto the other forum.

    Would be grateful for any advice - thanks.

    :)

    rename your logo to vbulletin3_logo_white.gif, then upload it to /images/misc/

    not sure what you mean by "fail", can offer more help if you provide me with the URL.

    Thanks for the info Sniper.

    I have passed that on to the Forum Admin and she is going to have a go so keeping fingers crossed she will be successful. She is a HF member so will post here if still having problems. :)

    Hello - I'm the 'other one' on whose behalf Alison was asking.

    By fail I meant that the image just plain doesn't show! Even though I used the very same process as I had on my own vB forum which was to go to StyleVars>Image Paths>Title Image and paste the url in there. It shows in there just fine!

    I'd like to try what you suggest but could you be more specific about where I find "/images/misc/" as I have searched and searched to no avail .... [IMG]

    <edit>
    I found it! But though I pasted the "vbulletin3_logo_white.gif" in place of the "/images/misc/" that was in the box it still didn't show.

    Forum url is http://www.gardenerscorner.co.uk/forum/usercp.php

    Hi Alison / gardengirl

    rename the logo to gc_logo.gif and then upload to /forums/ folder, overwriting the existing logo.

    edit: sorry should have mentioned before;

    you need to login via FTP then browse to /forum/, this is where you should upload your logo.

    n/p

    Looks like your website is hosted with hostgator; you will need your account details e.g. login / password to login

    1) download FTP client if you haven't got one e.g. FileZilla - Client Download (Windows version)

    2) install "FileZilla FTP Client: by clicking setup.exe

    3) start the application, should be under start -> programs -> FileZilla

    4) fill in the quick connect text boxes with your account details

    - hostname : gardenerscorner.co.uk
    - username : you should know this
    - password : again only you should know this
    - port : you leave this blank

    click "connect"

    a) on the left hand side you have your local computer, browser to where your logo is

    b) on the right you have your hosting provider (remote computer), once logged in, browser to forum folder, then simply drag the logo from the left to the right, this should start the upload.

    Personally I'd recommend FireFTP. It's by far the best FTP client I've used and it's a simple addon to firefox.
