hey guys i just bought this new setup: *ViewSonic VX2835WM 28" Piano Black 3ms(GTG) Widescreen LCD Monitor *G.SKILL 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory *Western Digital Caviar Green WD10EADS 1TB SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive *LG 22X DVD±R DVD Burner Black IDE Model GH22NP20 *Intel Core i7 920 Nehalem 2.66GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor Model BX80601920 *EVGA 132-BL-E758-A1 LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard *Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit for System Builders *BFG Tech BFGEGTX260MC896OC2BE GeForce GTX 260 896MB 448-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card *OCZ GameXStream OCZ700GXSSLI 700W ATX12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready Active PFC Power Supply *5 120mm Blue LED fans and one 200mm fan. i ran mirrors edge expecting beauty but it is extremely choppy, even at the lowest settings. the bfg support said the video card requires 38A from combined 12V channels. my psu has 4 at 18A. he told me i only had 36, does that make sense? ive loaded the newest drivers for the monitor and the video card. full screen isn't choppy when my resolution is only 1024x768 or lower, but should be able to run at 1920x1200. the game seems to be slightly less choppier when i remove all 6 fans. any help please this is driving me crazy
You do have a pretty good power supply but could still be a problem I guess. Try disconnecting all unnecessary hardware (including USB hardware) then give it a try! You mention it works better when you remove all the fans, is that at the full resolution or the lower one, also have you tried lowering graphics settings? Rather than trying the latest drivers consider giving older one's a try!
