    EVGA X58 3X SLI, X58, (Socket 1366) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard : novatech.co.uk : evg-x58

    EVGA X58 3X SLI, X58, (Socket 1366) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard.
    will support quad core i7 processors, 920, 940 & 965 extreme
will also run two gtx 295's in quad sli.
    excellent overclocking board.
excellent strong boards intel boards, low heat exchange on the north & southbridges.
    dual gig lan
latest tech - boards supports qpi upto 6.4G/T (replaces fsb)
the i7 processors qpi start at 4.8G/T (replaces fsb)
The i7 processors memory controller is built onto the chip instead of northbridge.
    i7 processors have 1mb L2 cache, 256kb per core also a shared 8mb L3 cache.
The mobo also supports the latest ddr3 Tripple channel memory upto 1600mhz

what else can i say but excellent board & processors. should take it into consideration.

thanks for the replys i have a question to add to this when RAM is concerned what do i look for DDR2 or 3? and what do the numbers mean?

    "I have mine @ DDR3 1600MHz 7,7,7,21 1.80v with P1/P2 Enabled."

    7,7,7,21?

    Thanks again.

you have to check on your motherboard manual what ram is supported and what the max memory speed the motherboard supports e.g. ddr2 upto (1033mhz)

ddr 3 of course is the best ram, latest tech (but you have to buy the correct ram according to what you motherboard supports)

    what the numbers mean:

1600mhz = is the speed of the memory(quicker the better)

7,7,7,2,1 = CAS timings. In other words memory latency, response times (lower the better)

    1.80v = ram voltage

so that mother baords you recommanded with only take DDR3 ram of "Memory Bus Speed Range DDR3 1600(O.C.)/1333/1066"
