hi, so i just built my first computer...and it will not turn on. i thought it may be the power supply so i replaced it. but it still does the same thing....the fans all kick on for a split second...then nothing. any ideas?
is it short circuitin out? check to see if the motherboard isnt touchin the back of the case. check your wiring.
crap...i think it is touching the case...does that mean i fried my system...and if not...what do i put under it to stop that? p.s. thanks for the help
usually the mobo will arrive with small spacers to screw it the case which also allow you to screw the mobo to
lol....thats what those were....ne idea if i would have messed anything up doing that....or once i fix the problem should it all be ok?
personally i'd forget about it for now and rebuild the system using them and see if it works first, don't fix anything until you know it's broken, chances are about 50:50 that you've turned your system into an expensive & attractive paperweight
hey man, hopefully you will be ok, just put the spacers in the case sit the mobo on top screw em down n boot, keep ur fingers crossed. good luck dude.
If this is a NEW build, then you must of got a info book on your motherboard..It will show you how to install it, or it should.. ALWAYS do research before you start any project, that way it won't cost you in the end..
do the fans still kick in? - if so check the 5v rail if its intel, make sure your not using the pci-e cable, by a flaw they both fit into the same slot. after you check that reset the cmos. still no post then could be ram or psu.. or mobo lol
