    Hello.
I've been having trouble with my PC lately, when ever I play certain games, about 5 mins into playing the game my pc just restarts itself. I've been told by a few of my friends that it is due to overheating so i ran it for a while then checked all the components and i found that the graphics card was quite hot.
I've got a NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT and have had it for just under a year now.
the thing that i dont get is the games it restarts on:
    S.T.A.L.K.E.R
    Starwars Battlefront
    Serious Sam 2
    Medal of Honour
    GTA SA
    Dawn of War Soulstorm
    and theres more than that.
but what i dont understand is that i can play GTA IV, F.E.A.R 2, CoD 5, Lord of the Rings Conquest and Dawn of War Dark Crusade, and none of those games restart like the rest.
Does anyone know if it is the graphics card that is causing it?
and Has anyone else encountered this problem?

    Thanks

Try running memtest, check for memory errors. strange how it doesn't restart on the higher end games. what are your temps? cpu, Northbridge & southbridge? whts your graphics card temp? I doubt it's your psu because your blitzin high end games such as GTA IV, COD5 etc and no restart. don't think its your graphics card either because as you say it works fine on high end games. I'm thinkin more towards heat or memory issues.

    thanks for replying.
all the temps seem to be fine all under 40, and i tried Memtest and left it on untill it was like 1000% but its not coming up with any errors.

another thing that has happened is that at a certain point in a certain level on COD5 it crashes every time.

Could also be driver issues, update your graphics card drivers and also try re-istalling you direct X 9 or 10 depending on what OS your using.

all my drivers are up to date and ive reinstalled directx.
another thing that has started to happen is if im playing any game with itunes running at the same time, when ever the song changes the graphics get all messed up in game.
could this be more of a memory problem.
a few weeks before the restarting happened my pc had a virus and i had to reinstall every thing and to begin with it was only restarting on the one game but now its just ridiculous.

i feel for you, drivers & cooling are one thing, but, there is i think a firmware upgrade available for the gfx card, if you don't understand anything to do with firmware or don't want to flash the gfx then return the grx card by obtaining an RMA
