Hope this is in right section. I' ve installed a Videomate C200 USB capture stick and Moviefactory 5 and also ulead videostudio 11. I,m trying to put video tapes onto DVD, I get a perfect picture on screen but whatever I try I cannot get sound, No problem with sound system on PC and have tested VCR - no problems. The videos are home recorded, but i've tried 'bought' ones as well with the same result. When I click 'capture video' it says "cannot start capture graph, capture failed file currupt and unuseable and will be deleted" . or just "cant start capture graph"( on videostudio). Any ideas -- I'm sure its a "setting" but just cant track it down. Thanks
thanks for reply, im using vista64, have tried on a friends XP machine works fine, compro very unhelpful there only suggestion was to keep remove sticks of ram til it worked - it made no difference. they wont give me any more support as it was bought as part of a package, hence trying the forum. they say its all v ista compatible.
Well... I am no Windows expert but I think the issue is that Vista does not recognise/accept the 'new' audio capturing device. Perhaps you need to go into Control Panel's audio settings (Sounds and audio devices, I think) and change the audio capturing (recording) device from whatever it is to Compro's (while the device is attached otherwise Windows will try to revert to the default). I think I would know how to do it in XP but I do not use Vista so cannot even guess. Sorry....
thanks-that makes sense, but cant find a 'setting' to change, I will try a question in windows/software section. Thanks again 4 repling
