    Hello,

    I'm looking for improvements/recommendations for this build. I'd like for it to be able to run newish games at respectable rates (2005+)

    Actually it looks pretty good. The 3870 might run a little low on larger monitors(22"+) but all in all it looks like a strong performer. The one thing I would spend just a little more money on is the cpu where your can get a Phenom 8450 for just $20 more than the much older Athlon 64 X2. Clock speed wise its slower but it should be a better performer. Also, the extra core will help smooth out any multitasking.

    the 3870 is amazing!! I have the SAPPHIRE 3870 and it runs CRYSIS on high 30fps 2xAA
    BEST CARD FOR MONEY!
    You can find a better case for the money
