What kind of company has to get anal about return HDD packaging? A company that makes a lot of bad hard drives and don't want them RMAid, I tell you.

So the question is do I have to use their packaging, or can I warp the HDD in bubble wrap, then also some foam, put it into a box and send it to them? Another question, is it worth RMAing, I bet buying HDD from best buy and returning my bad one is much easier?

Of course an answer from someone who done it is better than a conjecture from someone who dreams about RMAing Seagate drives, lol.

And for those who just reading this, don't ever buy a Seagate. A) drive is a piece of crap and it won't last you long, B) service is let's put this way "complicated". Instead of Seagate/Maxtor go for Western Digital, and don't look any other place.

P.S. I have two of their SCSI 320 36.6 GIG HDDs, those are good, no complains. But those were originally made by HP/Compaq.

    HA!

The exact same reason I never use seagate anymore - i got so frustrated with their RMA process I just gave up and bought a new one.

Make sure its in a velostat bag or they'll probably say it got a static shock from the packaging.

    Best of luck!
