Hi, I have an old notebook, HP omnibook 6000 (PIII 700Mhz). The battery has been dead for years. I'm planning to use it as a server (mini installation of gentoo). The notebook will be placed with a buddy of mine. He is away at work a month at the time, it's therefore a little critical that the server always is on. The problem is; if the power fails, the computer will shutdown. When the power is comes back, the notebook will not power up. The bios has no "AC power loss restore state" or "power on" options like desktop computers. I've updated the bios to the newest version. Do you guys have a suggestion? I'm wondering if someone here has modded a computer so it always power up? A little wired first post
