ok, so i wana replace my processor to hold my computer over until i can afford a new one. i dont know what to replace my processor with to speed my computer up a little bit. right now my processor is "Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz" my motherboard computer model number is SR2172NX, it is an hp compaq or w/e. here is a link to my motherboard specifications on the compaq site. Motherboard Specifications, RC415ST-HM (Alhena5)
I think you should keep your current processor until you can afford a whole new system. it's better that way. Upgrading would be a waste right now. Just my opinion cause I had that same processor before I upgraded into a quad core just recently. Saves more money that way in my opinion.
Supports the following processors: * Pentium D 900 series (Pressler, 65nm) * Pentium 4 601 series (Cedar Mill, 65nm) * Celeron D 3xx series (Cedar Mill, 65nm) * Celeron D 3xx series (Prescott, 90nm) You can't do any better than you have right now, even if you do it will be so little it won't be worth it. Keep in mind just because its socket 775, doesnt mean it will support a C2Q 775.
