Hi, I have been having difficulties with my computer as of late. It is running slow. I have a pentium 4 2.4ghz with 2GB's of RAM on windows XP. I have bought a new harddrive so there is nothing on my PC, and yet it is still slow. I have heard of dual core, and I am wondering, where can I buy a 2nd core to add to my Pentium 4? Is it hard to install? I mean, cpu's are pretty small aren't they? I might have trouble putting it in. Let me know what you guys think.

    Thanks, Josh.

You cannot ADD cores to your existing processor..dual and quad core CPUs are the Dual Core/Core 2 Duo and the Core 2 Quad in the Intel range..try one of them..Core 2 Duo would be optimum..

Processors dont work like RAM..you can add RAM sticks to increase it..you cannot add cores to your existing processor..get a new one :)

Hello, just be aware, if you buy a new Dual Core cpu etc this will need a new motherboard and memory. It will not work with your current setup.

For a dual core/core 2 duo proc i think you will need an LGA775 socket..intel..not sure about AMD
