Hello everyone, Sorry for posting this here, idk if it's the better place for it, but im just new here, Sorry :x: So... this problem came out like.. 3 weeks ago, I know it's a problem with my fan, let's explain it: If I play just 40 minutes of a not that powerfull game like CS:S my pc crashes, I think it's bcuz my laptop( yes its a laptop) is too hot. I talked to a friend and he asked for my Dx Diag, he says that I have a duel CPU laptop both with 2,3 ghz which is a lot for a laptop. But he says the prob is that we dont know how good my fan is. So my problem comes probably from the fan or fans that aren't good enough, and if there is any specialist here that can help me to find out which fan i have to buy, or which any other solution he has got for me can he pls help me
Does your laptop have a custom Video card in it.?? Most Games played on a laptop will cause it to over heat..They just heat up fast..
well if u say that my laptop is too bad for playing, can u tell me why it never happened when I used to play Combat Arms, Quake 3 and when i started CS:S? i think there rly is a problem with the fan(s) since i started hearing a strange noise when I play, that noise is now more silent, but I keep thinking that one of the fans is proably f*cked up... anyway thx for helping m8
Ghostman is correct... How about conducting your own research...as opposed to asking to be spoon fed? Laptops are not what a lot of people would like to crank them up to be.
Try using a laptop cooler. These are basically a plastic slab with fans mounted in it, often powered by the USB buss. They can help bring your temps down a lot, and don't cost too much.
Well, it's possible the fan and heatsink are full of dust, so you might be able to solve the problem by cleaning them out with compressed gas. What sort of noise is occurring? The fans will speed up based on the temperature, so is that what you're hearing, or is it some kind of rattling or clicking sound? What's the laptop model and specs?
Dude wtf? You're rude. His question isn't stupid at all. He says he was not having issues when he first started playing the same game that is giving him issues now. So, if his laptop performed fine with the game before but now crashes, obviously something has changed; something has gone wrong... Danny, since you're suspecting the fan, does your laptop get really hot? Some time ago, I was having laptop crash issues myself. I also suspect a faulty fan, actually, so we're kind of in the same boat. I would definitely feel the laptop get really hot, and then it would shut off. For some reason, the problem just went away on its own after some time. No idea how that happened. So, do you remember if your laptop now gets significantly hotter than it used to, before you started having this issue?
