Hi, I bought a CPU in eBay last year and that company does not exist any more. Last week my computer bust. I thought the problem is with the ethical’s and I replaced the whole unit. But the CPU is on for a minute and it will shut down automatically. I am unable to do anything. My friend advised me that could be the problem with my motherboard. My motherboard is AS Rock 4Core 1333-FullHD you can see the details here! ASRock > Products > 4Core1333-FullHD Now, I Googled to buy a new one and couldn't get any. Can you please suggest me a compatible motherboard to replace this? How to recognise the right choice? Is this the right one? Tekheads.co.uk Please suggest the best one. Many thanks,
could you go into more detail about your problem, exactly what happens when you hit the power button on your pc? we will let you know what the problem could be and save you possbily wasting money on a new motherboard for nothing.
Thanks a million Bobby. You have saved me from wasting money to buy a motherboard. I have reset the processor and the fan was not fixed properly. I re-fixed the fan and checked all the connections... and started the cpu... hummmm... That worked great! My computer is working perfect now! I need an advice: When I re-fix the processor fan, the thermal paste between processor and fan has run out. The temp display on my cpu unit shows 24 degrees when the computer started and after half-an-hour it has increased to 36 degrees. Please see the picture of my fan. What do you suggest? Thanks..
Hi your cpu was overheating therefor causing your computer shut off. I would advise you to invest in some artic silver 5 thermal paste Arctic Silver 5 Premium, 3.5 g tube [AS5] from Overclock.co.uk - Overclocking, Performance Computer Hardware, PCs and Laptops clean off the old thermal paste from your cpu with alcohol swobs or a tissue and apply a small blob of artic silver 5 onto the cpu and smother it with a credit card or piece of cardboard then re-seat your heatsink ontop and this should stop your cpu overheating.
