I am looking for a new desktop replacement notebook for work purposes. I am running modeling and CAD software and here are the min specs I'll need. -4GB Ram -Dual Pentium 4 or Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz or higher 4 MB L2 cache or higher 1333 MHz FS bus -OpenGL 256 MB dedicated RAM 32 bit colour 1024 x 768 SVGA or greater -300GB SATA -Vista 64bit Business. -A large screen (18.4" or higher) would be great. Battery life is not a major issue. Weight is also not an issue. I've been looking around and it seems that my limiting factor with these specs is the 1333 MHz FSB. Here are a couple models I've looked at, but if anyone has some advice or input I would greatly appreciate it. #1 Acer 8935-7791 Intel® Core™2 Quad Processor C2Q 9000 (6MB L2 cache, 2.0GHz, 1066MHz FSB) 4GB (2/2) DDR3 1066 SDRAM ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 4670 with 1 GB of DDR3 VRAM 1TB (2 x 500GB) SATA hard drive, 5400RPM Would the Quad core make up for the lack in GHz and FSB? #2 Custom Sager (custom gaming laptops - Welcome to Sager Notebooks) This seems like it would be a great option for me. The only issue is the 1066MHz FSB on the T9600. I have no idea what setbacks I would experience not meeting this requirement, anyone know? Anyways, if anyone has any advice or thoughts on this, please let me know.
