Hi and welcome to the forums. If your fan is not working it is probably the fan that is broken or the connection to the motherboard or power supply (depends what fan is not working). Can you tell the forum what computer you have, did you build it? What fan is not working? Did the problem start after you downloaded the programs and used CCleaner? Did you get any Virus warnings before the problem started?
i use hp,i downloaded ccleaner and speed fan,did some temperature shuffling with speed fan, registry cleaned with ccleaner 2 to 3 days after i was alerted that my mcafee virus enterprise was turned off and did not agree to turn on,i suspected ccleaner for removing it,some days after i was browsing and my p.c just turned off,it did like that for weaks, untill i noticed it was always burning hot when ever it turns off like that,i re turned it on and noticed no fan was cooling it,i tried to system restore but the system restore program did not come up,now it is was,it wont take up till 5 minutes before turning off. I USE HP COMPAQ
? Not sure CCleaner will do this. Could be a virus.... Is your PC under guarantee? If so, contact the seller. Otherwise you will need to "get your hands dirty" and look inside the case. If you are not sure what you are doing and do not want to damage anything, take it to someone who knows what he/she is doing. Essentially you need to look inside the case to see which fan is not working. Perhaps the fans are simply clogged with dust and need a good clean. If the CPU's cooling fan is busted then that could be the reason for the constant restarting. Also if the other cooling fans had it the CPU cooler is churning hot air and the CPU can eventually overheat and shut down. If everything is working correctly inside the case, then the reason could be a virus which keeps shutting down your PC....
I did not realise the PC was a laptop.... Well, laptops use one fan (normally, I think...) which is the CPU fan... if it aint working then you have an overheating issue on your hands. I would assume that the laptop will then switch off very quickly. Again, as with the desktop PC, if you have a guarantee, use it. Do not attempt to play around with the laptop or it will void your guarantee. If the laptop's guarantee is finished it is whether you know what you are doing. Unlike desktop PC's, laptops are a lot more complicated and getting to the fan and replacing it can prove problematic. Unless you know what you are doing, don't! Does your Set-up menu (BIOS settings) have a page where you can see the CPU temperature (could be something like computer health etc...)? If so, go into the BIOS setting (not sure the key to get to the BIOS settings... perhaps F10 during start up?), leave the laptop on and see how the temperatures behave. If the fan stays off and the temperature continuously climb until the laptop shuts down than obviously the fan is dead....
it does not show me anything like p.c help, but i'll try fixing it today and let you know how things turn out
