hi all, problem is i picked up an acer 5720z for the Mrs but its dead
no lights fan or anything at all, not a peep. i have taken off just about everything there is ( battery, dvd, ram, hdd, added usbs, and still nothing

i tried holding the power button for 60 seconds and stilll nothing
i even swapped the power jack as there not soldered and i had a known working 1 already

so i know it has to be a motherboard problem ( unless the processor could do this ? ) but i am leaning more to a fuse on the motherboard

does anyone know where i may find the main fuse or what i should be looking as a last option before i chuck the board

any advice please would be nice :)

hi thanks for your reply, i am thinking is there a fuse to control power ?

i remember about 2 years ago having a nintendo ds with similar problem and i replaced 2 fuses (F1 + F2) which got it working and just wondered if the same goes with laptop motherboards ?

it would just be nice not to be beat

many thanks for your response :)
