I have a Gateway FX6800-11 Computer with Microsoft Vista Home Premium 64 bit Operating System. It came with a Nvidia GeForce GTS 150 Graphics Card installed which gave the computer a Windows Experience Index of 5.9 which is the fastest number possible. The original driver was named Nvidia GeForce GTS 150 .

I manually uninstalled the old driver and updated it to a Nvidia GTS 250 driver. When I did that my computer crashed. I had to use a restore point to get the computer to work. The computer now has a Microsoft Standard VGA Graphics Adapter installed which has a Windows Experince Index of 1.0, the slowest number. The Nvidia GeForce GTS 150 Graphics Card has turned off somehow. I've talked to Gateway Support and they have no clue how to fix it. Does anybody know how to turn on a graphics card once it is turned off?

By the way, a Nvidia GeForce GTS 150 is also called a GeForce 9800 GTX, that is, Nvidia renamed the board. I also can't find the old GTS 150 driver anywhere. It worked fine with that driver. It seems Nvidia doesn't support the GTS 150 on its website I assume because it is an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) board. Can anybody help me find a way to turn on this card. If I can't I will have to send the computer to Gateway Repair Center in Texas for repair which will take 3 weeks.

your computer crashed because you installed the wrong drivers. When you restored your pc to an earlier date Windows installed a generic driver for your graphics card. Try downloading the 100 Series drivers from Nvidia's website if that doesn't work try the 9 series after all it's just a renamed 9800 GTX.
