Hi guys, first post here and I'm hoping you can help me with my HP Pavillion DV2175EA. The laptop displays graphics normally when connected to an external monitor but flickers/shimmers at bootup and doesn't displays colour properly in Windows once booted up. I would descibe the flickering as if the image is shaking left to right rapidly in small movements as if it can't hold the image still. The picture remains on constantly, it's not cutting out. Once booted the colours aren't displayed properly as if it can't display the full bit depth plus white text isn't legible. I assume the fact the screen flickers/shimmers in the BIOS that it points to a hardware fault. I have changed the LCD screen, LCD cable, and LCD Invertor for new ones (correct parts) but still have the problem. I don't know what else to try, can anyone help? Thanks Craig
I would say that would be the LCD screen,But since you have replaced it, then it will be a bad video adapter..
Thanks for your response Ghostman. If it's outputting perfectly to an external monitor, doesn't that suggests the video adapter is OK? Can the video adapter be swapped out?
It seems to be the inside video,That you are having problems with..It is probably the cable or card itself. The adapter is built on the motherboard..
Well the cable has been changed for a new one aswell so unless a faulty one got sent I guess it's not that, of course I have no way of testing that.
