    Hi folks.

Desperately need help resolving this as I am partially disabled as far as typing is concerned and need my USB Bluetooth headset for Dragon NaturallySpeaking to operate (Plantronics Calisto headset & its USB adapter).

On my XP Pro SP3 PC, USB devices no longer recognized when plugged in. These devices have been successfully used in the past, but now there is no acknowledgment of the USB device at all on plugin.

USB printer, which is permanently plugged in and hasn't been removed, still works fine, but new plugins not recognized.

But it's not just my headset. No thumb drives or anything else USB either.

    TIA

right, have you recently added any new hadware or software (including Windows Update) and are all other USB ports being tried & are you using the latest USB drivers

finally it could be malware or a virus

I agree with donkey42. As you said USB devices were recognized previously but now you are having problem. This might be due to new software installation, Windows update, or virus.

Uninstall any software, Windows update if you have done and also scan your computer to clean it from viruses and malwares.
