hi everyone im running a windows7 pc with 2 monitors and a sli/crossfire ready motherboard (but only one g-card atm) i want to expand my flightsimulator experience and therefore want to connect another 3 monitors (5 in total) but im not quite sure how to get that setup  can anyone give me some tips? do i need to connect another 2 g-cards? or are there different solutions through hdmi maybe? thank you in advance
Ok "thank you" for nothing I have found something and decided to post the "solution" anyhow :chk: TripleHead2Go from Matrox This product is available for 2 and 3 monitors. Basicly you can connect it to an output of your grafix card and then connect up to 3 monitors, if you have another output you can connect a 4th monitor or another triplehead2go and so on... Clean and simple solution
FYI, if you are still looking for this -- I have run a lot of different flight sim setups over the last 15 years or so. In my experience, you are going to end up with fairly poor performance if you try and run 5 displays off of 1 computer (even with a fairly decent system). The better route if you are really wanting to expand is to use netpipes and run 2 different systems networked together to provide you with multiple displays. You will get much better performance that way.
you are mentioning a good point there, but i only seem to find stuff about netpipes for fs2002 and fs2004 have you got any infos for a fsx setup? maybe a page of someone that presents his/her setup and describes how to do it.. thanks for the interest
for FSX most people are using wideview rather than a netpipes setup. WidevieW and Widetraffic for Flight Simulator. Multi monitor support on networked comptures. Multiple monitors with Flight Simulator 2004, FSX and Microsoft ESP.
aaah ok, thnx for the tip ill see how the other setup works (as i have already ordered everything) and then maybe "outsource" some screens to a further machine if necessary
alright, i got 3 screens up and running i set fsx to windowed mode and maximize it across all screens while flying and mooving arround it scores 29-30fps im only missing a dvi cable to get the other 2 screens running (should arrive tomorrow) ill do another post about the performance then untill now i can say: playing fsx with 3 screens and TH2Go delivers the same performance as when playing with 1 screen it would deff. be the easier, cheaper and greener solution
Ok! it seems that matrox has accomplished a perfect solution with tripple head 2 go i connected up all 5 screens and the framerate is the same as before so no need to connect together 3 pc's =)
