    Welcome to HWF :)

All components are compatible, as long as you use DDR3 RAM with a memory speed in the range of 800 - 2200 MHz.

One of the things that you really should consider is getting a better graphics card. A Geforce 9000 series (9600), Geforce GTX series or an ATI Radeon HD-series.

If you can afford, I'd suggest getting more RAM (6-8 GB) and an Intel i7 series. But as long as you use a better graphics card, it's already a nice build :)

LG has some great /blu-ray writers which perform really good.

The other items like the case, speakers and input devices are really a personal preference. There are cases with great cooling power but make noise. There are silent cases which have less cooling power.

And for the audio, this also depends on your preferences. Are a set of stereo desk speakers enough, or would you like 2.1/5.1 speakers with a subwoofer?

I wasn't particularly looking for a very high-end graphics card. In that case is the one i mentioned sufficient ? Also, budget is a constraint. So more RAM OR the Core i7 wouldn't be possible.

A set of stereo desk speakers are enough. Which ones are the best in that kind of speakers ?

And thanks a ton for the advice. Really appreciate it! :D

The graphics card is good for anything except gaming. The performance in games will be poor, but it's fine for everything else.

Basically any set will do. Logitech X-140 or LS11 are good basic speakers :)

    No problem, you're welcome :)

I'd suggest at least an 8800gt or 9600gt.

What PSU should be good to go with the above configuration ? I don't want a very high-end one, but again i don't want a very basic one either...

We have a nice Power Supply Guide here to help you to choose one. I would suggest somewhere around 500 Watts or more :)
