Whenever i try to start my pc. a message show that "NTLDR missing" in the black screen. what is the problem? and what may b the solution of it? please help me....
NTLDR is a hidden system file located in your C: directory. The file must have gotten corrupted through a virus or some other cause... To fix this issue, you need to copy back NTLDR to drive C:. There are two methods of going about this: 1. FLOPPY - Grab a diskette and copy the NTLDR file to it through a friends computer. The file is hidden and is located in drive C:. Once copied, insert the diskette in your computer and Windows should boot up normally. Once booted up, copy the file from the diskette to drive C:. 2. WINDOWS XP DISC - Insert the Windows XP bootable CD into the computer. When prompted to press any key to boot from the CD, press any key. Once in the Windows XP setup menu press the "R" key to repair Windows. Log into your Windows installation by pressing the "1" key and pressing enter. You will then be prompted for your administrator password, enter that password. Copy the below two files to the root directory of the primary hard disk. In the below example we are copying these files from the CD-ROM drive letter, which in this case is "e." This letter may be different on your computer. copy e:\i386\ntldr c:\ copy e:\i386\ntdetect.com c:\ Once both of these files have been successfully copied, remove the CD from the computer and reboot. source - NTLDR is missing
