I went to a friend of mine today and tried to move his motherboard and stuff from his PC case ( white ) to my old one ( black ) . Stupid me forgot to look which cable goes where ( the HDD activity led , the power led , the power switch and the reset switch ) . i tried quite a few combinations and and didn't get any thing , just the LED's being constantly on which is not supposed to happen . What is the worst that could happen , besides burning the LED's . here are simo pictures : ShareMobile - File Info ShareMobile - File Info ShareMobile - File Info ShareMobile - File Info .... as i think , a good PC expert knows where to put any cable on ony motherboard .

What you are referring to is called the "F-Panel" (short for Front Panel). The easiest way to plug back the small cables is to look in the motherboards manual. If you don't have it, you should be able to see little white letters around the F-Panel pins which will lead you to plugging in the correct cables.

For example, in one of the pictures you posted of the F-Panel i see the letters "pw-" and "pw+". The "pw" stands for "power", as in power cable. The words "pw+ and -" are located right beneath two pins which indicates that the power cable, usually with a writing on the head that says "power sw" or just "power", is to be plugged in to those pins.
Do the same with the remaining cables.
