Hi Everyone, I lurked and searched but couldn't find anything related so I'm posting this new threads. History : Some months back something on my Mboard got fried due to high voltage. I got it repaired and had to install a new SMPS. The problems started afterwards. The following peripheral are attached to the MB. - Two Sata HDD. - One DVD writer - One NVIDIA graphics card. What really happens: If I connect both HDDs together, one of them will eventually stop working. Might work for a minute or so. It just vanishes from Windows Explorer and diskmgmt. At times when both are connected and I reboot the machine, it show errors related to missing OS files. If i kept one connected, it worked properly but would get SLOW-MOTION syndrome from time to time and it increased. My external drive (powered by USB) does not work at all. It struggles but dies out. Same drive works flawlessly on other computers. Every now and them, my computer will just SLOW down. Everything will work in slow motion as if stuck like a fish bone in throat. Only thing working would be mouse. Even if you typed, characters appeared after like 10 seconds. This kept happening for some time and eventually both my SATA HDD's crashed. I got them replaced and now have two brand new HDD's. Carefully I installed one last week and I am now facing similar issues. Slow-motion syndrome and chckdsk's during startup. Blank desktops and other irritating stuff. I know its not my OS coz.......... I've checked. I've got a feeling that my MB is not getting enough juice from the new SMPS or maybe there is something else that you hardware gurus can suggest. Please help, good karma will follow Thanks Chanderjeet
Welcome to HWF This sounds like an issue with your power supply. Are both hard drives connected using a separate power cable or are both drives sharing the same cable using a splitter?
