Hey everyone, Can anyone recommend the best and latest LGA 775 board with the best chipset that will possibly support this video card setup: BFG Tech BFGEGTX2951792E GeForce GTX 295 Newegg.com - BFG Tech BFGEGTX2951792E GeForce GTX 295 1792MB 896 (448 x 2)-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card PNY NVIDIA Quadro NVS 420 x16 VCQ420NVS-X16-DP-PB Newegg.com - PNY VCQ420NVS-X16-DP-PB Quadro NVS 420 512MB (256MB per GPU) 128-bit (64-bit per GPU) GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Low Profile Workstation Video Card My main goal is to try to get these two cards working together. I've been searching around and came across this: GA-X48-DQ6 GA-X48-DQ6 (rev. 1.1) - GIGABYTE I read that the X48 chipset is the way to go for extreme gaming and all that. Anyone got any other recommendations? Thanks, Kosta
Just curious: are those two cards compatible? I mean - how do you plan on making them work together. I know of hybrid SLI setups, but won't one drag the other down?
Honestly, I really don't know. All I know is I have a 30" Dell UltraSharp 3008WFP that requires a Dual Link DVI-D connection because of the native resolution (hence the GTX 295 which I already own) and four Dell SP2309W monitors that I am trying to get to function all together (I haven't bought the Quadro NVS 420 x16 yet). I had posted previously here about this: http://www.hardwareforums.com/trying-setup-5-monitors-28418/#post156599 I did a lot of troubleshooting and came to the conclusion that it's a memory issue with my current motherboard, an Asus P5WDG2-WS. If I keep the 8GB of ram in there that I have, I can't get any other video cards to work in the available PCI slots on the P5WDG2-WS alongside the GTX 295. If I only leave 1GB in there, it all magically works. So.... I'm guessing I need a new motherboard. I'm just looking for the best motherboard I can get without upgrading the processor and memory. I just want to stick to an LGA 775 board for now.
