Hey all. PC was working fine, then one day it wouldn't turn on. The fans turn on, the box lights up, but no POST, no signal in the monitor. I tested all PSU outputs with a multimeter and all were within tolerance (according to this article on about.com). What baffles me is that when I unplug the power cables to my video card, I get an obnoxious beep that tells me the mobo is aware enough to notice when there is no video. But when I pop out both RAM sticks, it goes back to no beeps - silence. It seems like if it's alive enough to go through the self-test and notice the lack of video, it should be able to notice the lack of RAM as well. But I'm not a pro, and advice would be welcome I have two sticks of RAM in slots 1 and 3. I tried reversing them, and doing each stick solo in slot 1, and placing them in slots 2 and 4 in the original order, and finally with no RAM. All gave the same response: fans go, box lights up, but no beeps and no video output. Bad RAM? Bad CPU? Bad video card? Unfortunately, we can't remember whether or not the PC normally beeps during a healthy bootup, and don't recall the BIOS we're using. We couldn't rule out that the PC is booting fine, just without video output, but the lack of response when booting with no RAM suggests that this is not the case. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you, Mark
