Hi! I have a friend that has a Sony Vaio desktop pcv-rx570. It has a 1.8 p4 in it. I have a 2.4 p4 I was wanting to put in it but I am not sure if it is possible. The intel 2.4 p4 model number is SL7YP. I also learned that the sony's motheboard has a 400 fsb and the2.4 p4 cpu has a 533 fsb. My questions are...is it possible to put the 2.4 p4 into the sony...and also, would it make much of a difference? I appreciate any help you can give me...and thanks in advance!!!

find out what motherboard the vaio has and see the supported cpu list.

the cpu will operate at the max fsb that the motherboard supports automatically, regardless of what it could theoretically work with (unless the mobo max fsb is higher than the cpus fsb, then of course the cpu would work at its own max rate).
