    Hi hardwareforums!!!!
I bought me a new processor on ebay.
    Its an AMD Athlon XP 2600+. AMD Athlon AXDA2600DKV4D XP 2600 SOCKET A 462 2.133GHZ - eBay (item 330459549525 end time Sep-08-10 21:02:31 PDT)

The only problem is: its a 333fsb cpu!
My board is a Micro Star International "MS-6390 VER:30B" with a VIA Chipset KM266! Motherboard Specifications, MS-6390 (Crossfire) - HP Customer Care (United States - English)

Im not shure if the AMD can run @ 266FSB.

    Some system spes:

    MS-6390 board
PC2700 DDR RAM @ PC2100 Speed (board doesnt support pc 2700)

    My 3 Questions are:

    1. Is the CPU gonna work?
    2. Whats gonna be the new clock speed?
    3. Is it gonna be stable?

    Im depending on your help!!!!!

The CPU can run, but at a slower speed. It's designed for a speed of 1.92 GHz using an FSB speed of 333. So in that case it'll run at a speed of 1.5 GHz (using an FSB of 266). A CPU usually runs stable if it runs on or lower than the stock clock speed, so that should be fine. So on your motherboard, it'll run at about 79% of the stock clock speed.

    Thanks man!!!!!!:)

    One more thing:
Will there be any difference in performance between a 256kb l2 and a512kb l2 cache processor?

Yes, the 512kb one will be faster because it can store twice as much instructions in the cache. You can expect slightly better performance, but It'll mostly be an improvement in numbers only :)
