    Hi,

I just built my first computer today and after putting all the parts together (correctly I assume) I am having trouble installing windows.

Here are the specs to my system:

GIGABYTE GA-770T-USB3 AM3 AMD 770 USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
    AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor HDZ965FBGMBOX
SAPPHIRE 100283-3L Radeon HD 5770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card
    CORSAIR XMS3 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model TW3X4G1333C9A G
Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
OCZ ModXStream Pro OCZ600MXSP 600W ATX12V V2.2 / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply compatible with core i7
COOLER MASTER Elite RC-310-SWN1-GP Black SECC / ABS ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
LITE-ON 24X DVD Writer Black SATA Model iHAS-324-98

Anyway, when I tried to first install windows 7 through my boot cd it goes through the usual windows and the sometime during installation I get a blue screen saying IQRL_NO_LESS_OR_EQUAL.
I've read somewhere this could have to do with a lot of things like hardware compatibility or driver issues(which doesn't make any sense there are no drivers installed)...anyway next time I try to install it I get a BOOTMRG missing message press ctrl + alt +delete to restart. SOMETIMES I get that message and sometimes it proceeds to the installation windows and then crashes with IQRL message. One weird thing I noticed is when I tried to install windows 7 and it asked me for the drives there was an additional partition which said something like unallocated partition 100 mb then a second partition of my actual hd which was partition 0 (or 1?) with ~1Tb.

Anyway, I figure something is wrong with my harddrive or my ram or something else.

    Any thoughts/resolutions?

    Thanks,

    Marvel

Try to boot Linux. See what that says.

Windows 7 will only boot with a DVD rom /DVD RW Drive.. A cd rom drive will not work.. If you can, try to install XP first, then install Win Se7en...

I had very similar problem, simple solution was to disconnect all extra extension cards with unnecessary USB devices(very important). Then try to install Windows 7.

    Hi guys,

Thanks for responding. I figured out one of my sticks of RAM was busted.
