No post beep with new components

    Hi,

I have replaced my motherboard, cpu, ram with a retailed 'bundle' of components. I must connect one of two four pin pwr2 leads to the motherboard to power the cpu; the first has yellow and black leads, the second, red purple black and yellow. Have you any ideas on my next move?

    Thanks for your time.

Do you mean the power button doesn't work? it can be powered manually using tiny screw driver. first, you need to know where the 9 pin system panel header is. second, short the pin 8&9 using the tiny screw driver. when the mobo turns on, connect the power button connector to it.

Hi, Things have moved on since. my last post.

    Now my problem is:

I've taken out my motherboard and put it back in. Now the only response to 'power on' is the fan spinning on the cpu. the hdd doesn't vibrate and the dvd drive won't open.

Can you advise me on my next move?
The motherboard is Winfast 760gxk8mc. I can't say what cpu came with it

    Thanks for your time.

ok, try to change the Power supply. or check the 12V & 5V on the connector to HHD and DVD Drive.

Also reset the CMOS, and Re-Install the Processor and Memory.

do you have the manual of your motherboard? first, unplug the power cord and find the two pins around the CMOS battery labeled CLR_CMOS and short that two pins in 3sec. After that, plug in back the power cord. Did you Change your Power Supply?
