Lucent Agere Internal Modem not installing on Intel motherboard

    Hello
    I have Intel DQ35JO motherboard with XP home and as i plug lucent agere internal modem the pc does not boot. the boot stops after flashing bios screen. If i remove the modem the pc boots fine. I checked the device modem and there is no modems listed on it.I really appreciate your guidance.I tested and modem works on other pc. i do have the drivers of the modem.please suggest how i can install this modem.

    You need to uninstall the old modem then remove the driver from device manager. Or try resetting the CMOS. Sometimes it happens with mismatch driver.

    Try updating your bios sounds like an issue with your PCI controller. hopefully bios update will fix the problem with controller detection and the setting of the frequency.
