I have a square samsung syncmaster with a native res of 1280x1024, but I can't figure out why when I run Watchmen under this resolution it doesn't render in fullscreen - instead it has those black stripes like a widescreen movie. Of course, it's a ported game native to consoles, but anyway - shouldn't it be fullscreen (even if I run it in a window, it is smaller than the screen - about the same size as in fullscreen)? I mean Mafia 2 is a port, too, but it runs on 1280x1024 and in fullscreen. wtf?

Check the options within the game.

Otherwise google the problem. And if you can't find anything, you are most likely doing something wrong that is very simple (like unchecking something in video options)

I am starting to think that it's not fullscreen cause it's a hardcore port. Both Watchmen (incl Part 2) and WRC have this problem. And not only on my machine.

Does anyone own these games for the PC? How's it with the fullscreen mode? Got filmstrips?

Is there a way to set the aspect ratio? Maybe it's set at 1280x1024 using the 16:9 or 16:10 ratio. It should be 4:3. Maybe there's a setting there, or you need to tweak the game files.

Hm, I didn't think of what. There is no default aspect ratio option available, but maybe editing a file will do.
