Where is everyone? OK, I don't post very often anymore but I still come around once in awhile. And it's sad to see one thread in general chat that's newer than the 9th of October ( and it's a spam thread ). Especially when I was a regular poster back in the day this area was boomin', with several threads a day, sometimes a whole page of threads. This was the very first site I joined after getting my first computer and internet connection...I was a late starter When I joined here I didn't know anything, a complete noob, a blank slate...and most of the people around here were just kids, but they were very well educated kids in computers. I was amazed by how much they knew. Awestruck, because, even though I was much older than most of them, I knew nothing about computers. Which is why I specifically sought out a computer site when I came on the Internet...to learn about computers. Sure, people grow up, they move on, and the advent of social-networking sites has, to some extent, hurt forum communities...but this was a great vibrant very active site... and hopefully it can get that back.
I watch the RSS feed of recent posts to see if anything interests me but its nearly always a re-hash of an already-asked question and with my work life being so busy now sitting on my computer not really doing very much no longer happens. But I agree with the sentiment !
I am here everyday looking for interesting threads. I end up answering "already-asked" questions and sometimes asking my own question.
This is my first forum, too. This is actually the only forum of which I consider myself to be a part of, like 'actually' a member. I do like it and I am checking in once a week as a minimum (Have hardwareforums on my quickdial site in Opera). Sometimes I create threads, too. I think it's anything but dead.
