    Hi,

I'm from the Netherlands so please excuse my English....

    Just bought a new videocard: Sapphire Radeon HD 5850 ( 1gb ddr5 Ati )

The card is connected to my Acer 24"monitor directly with DVI. This works ( ofcourse )

Then I have a LCD television, 1080p from Samsung.

My last videocard ( Asus ENGTS250 1gb ddr3 nvidia ) the only thing I had to do was connect the monitor to the DVI and the LCD tv to the HDMI and I was able to see two monitors in Windows 7 display settings.

Now with this new videocard I tried the same, monitor on DVI, LCD on HDMI but windows doesn't regonize the second monitor, it just sees one monitor.
Then I tried to connect the Acer monitor to the upper HDMI, and the LCD to the lower HDMI with a little yellow adapter from HDMI -> DVI but that also doesn't help.

Who can explain to me how to connect the LCD television ( by DVI cable ) so windows wil regonize it as second monitor ?

    Welcome to HWF :)

I assume you've installed the latest ATI/AMD Catalyst drivers. Follow these steps to activate the 2nd monitor: 737-27130: How to Enable the Secondary Monitor/TV-Out in Catalyst
Those instructions are intended for an S-Video connection, but DVI and HDMI connections should also work using those instructions.
