I don't get it. Why didn't the 360 make an impact in Japan? How come everyone prefers the PS3 over the Xbox? I would hate to admit it but I don't want the PS3 to succeed. I would rather have the 360 and Wii prosper than Sony's crap.

Woah lol, sony aint crap at all, you just seem like a BIG Xbox 360 fan, i can see this going into the war zone lol :p

Anyway, i think sony is Japanese, i am guessing sony stuff is released first before anywere else, japan is just one big sony fan country.

Bias aside, I think Sony is more popular overall because of its huge fanbase. The reason why the PS3 may be more successful than the 360 in the long run is because of its raw power and technology. Although there were doubts, I think we'll see the true capabilities of the PS3 in a year or so when games catch up to the technology.

Sony's going to be more popular in Japan because its the home country. Why on earth would anyone prefer MS "crap" over Sony? (not necessarily my own views, I'm just making the point that it's up to the individual).

It is true that the Xbox 360 seems to be better than the playstation when playing current gen games, i read something about it on Gamespot, and there was various comparisons like Need For Speed Carbon, and the Xbox 360 has better detailed graphics on it but the playstation 3 has better building textures, some games the Xbox 360 evens out with the Ps3 and some games the Xbox evens out with the ps3 but the Xbox 360 maintains higher frame rates, but i noticed the replys to this review, people saying this means the xbox 360 is better and that the ps3 is crap, but that just is not true, current gen games that have been adapted for the ps3 are bound not th run as good.

The ps3 is a really, realy powerfull piece of kit which can do much much more than just games, and once the developers get familiar with the workings of the ps3 and other things like that, then the ps3 will start taking the lead, just like a car on a winter morning, really sluggish at the first, needs a little time to get working to its full potential, thats just like the ps3, if i remember, the xbox 360 wasent that good when it first launched too, infact i thought it was total rubbish, but more features and more games became available to it and then the xbox 360's power was truely realised, Gears of war is a great example of the Xbox 360's power, the first games that came out on the Xbox 360 were nothing special, and this is going to be the same case as the ps3.

I want the ps3 to succeed, its got alot going for it, brilliant, an evolution in gaming and computing :D

Just give it time, and then the power of the ps3 will also be noticed :)

I actually want the Wii to succeed. It may not have the "bottomless potential" of the PS3, but it's certainly brings something innovative to the mix.

I like the idea of the Wii but it's going to take time to go from attempted innovation to useful implementation of the wii's proprietory controls. Call of Duty 3 seems to make good use of it's control scheme but most games seem to just jam it in as an unecessary afterthought. I'd like it see it used in unique creative but intuitive ways.

The PS3 has been around for a long time and has developed a huge fan base not so much because it's a Japan based company so much as it has a wide variety of games released for it that appeal more to Japanese gamers as well as American, English, etc. gamers. RPGs and fighting games are pretty big over there and the PS consoles have always carried them in scores and Japan based comanies also pump out quite a few exclusive games that natually appeal to people of that county.

MS hasn't had a very firm grip on the Japanense gaming market yet and most Xbox games are too "American" for them and don't usually have the same appeal apparently.

I'd like to see the PS3 do well too. It's a console that has too much potential to deserve to fail and it's extreamly unlikely concidering the massive fan base and exclusive games schedualed. The 360 launch was nothing to jump un and down over, it had a few nice games but generally we were seeig ports of current gen games that looked almost identical. A lot of people had their doubts and really failed to see the next gen difference. But now just over a year after launch we've got amazing game in the pipeline and gorgeous titles abound like Gears of War, Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six Vegas. etc. and it's very safe to say the PS3 will follow suit here too.

I dont mean to start anything, but it probably will. PS3s are powerful? My friend has a PS3 and it hiccups on processor-intensive games where my 360 prevails.

"It won’t change the fact that the 360 stand above the other consoles".

I'm confusedon how you came to this conclusion? PS3 has been outselling Xbox 360 in the USA and UK for nearly 2 years. I think Xbox 360 user got sick of constantly buying new Xbox consoles due to the constant system failures, So instead of buying their 3rd - 4th Xbox 360 ('cuz lets face it, they last a year at best) they decided to go for a PS3 and never looked back! I still have my release day PS3, it's still going strong!. Case close.
