hello i have this issue i thought maybe it was the psu so i bought a psu and replaced and computer still wont boot up ,i even took out both ram and started still no post or no error beeps ,also took out all hardware devices to see if maybe it was the harddrive or a bad video card and that still did not post or give an error.

I also took out the battery and changed jumper.

does this osunds like a bios issue or is my motherboard gone? this is an older computer i really do need i guess i could find a motherboard to swap in there from a local computer store. then again if its old may be expensive to find one to fit may be cheaper to just buy a newer desktop let me know how i can fix this problem.

when i turn on the computer i get the fans moving and the floppy drive and dvd roms drives start then nothing screen is blank no display annd the red and green lights are on for a while then the red one goes off. but it wont boot up .

    so let me know thanks

Will it go into safe mode on startup ? Does it have onboard video, or external ? It will either video or motherboard.. rather than try to fix that one just build a new one, You can buy barebone kits now days for cheap..

No it wont go into safemode ,theres no video display it has onboard video and a pci /agp video card neither work i tried both ,i did verify the monitor works via a netbook. i think when i got the better video card i uninstalled the drivers for the onboard video anyways.

    Hi,

Try taking the motherboard out of the computer case and place it on a nonconductive surface such as cardboard and try doing a minimal boot. Its possible that if part of the system board is touching the metal of the case it could be causing a short. Only have the cpu (and its fan), 1 stick of ram, and the video card installed, and remove everything else. See if it will post. If it doesnt, try the ram in a different ram slot and try again. Then change the stick of ram and try again to see if it will post. If it still will not come up, clear the bios again and remove the video card and attach your monitor to the integrated video and try again. Even if you uninstalled the drivers for the integrated video from windows, when you boot the computer it loads a basic video driver that it would use so it could display text/bios information on the screen. If it still will not post, check the capacitors on your system board to see if they are bulging or leaking. If they are, it is a sign the system board is going bad. If they look fine, and we assume the power supply(which you replaced), Video card (tested integrated and discrete video), and RAM(tested one at a time and in different ram slots) are ok, then problem has to be either the motherboard or lastly the cpu.

    Hi,

Please check up in your mother board, is there any electrolytic capacitors gone bad? like Buldging or getting heating up.
