I changed my intel DG 41 RQ motherboard to ASUS.(intel C2D 2.9 processor) installed all the drivers. It worked fine for a couple of days. Now it shows problem with booting. When switch the power on, get a green LED on my motherboard, the cpu fan works, but no initial beep, no display. The display will come after several times switching it off and on. But It will go off again after selecting one from the option screen. Repeating the same process a number of times it will boot to windows ( XP service pack 3).And there is no problem while working. This problem will occur in the next boot also.
Could anybody help with a solution or an explanation

Do you have onboard video or a card ? If you have a card, you will need to go into the bios and change settings..

Does the motherboard give any beep at all!? Did it use to? Maybe the internal speaker isn't connected to your motherboard? Depending on the number of beeps it gives off, we can determine what the problem is.
You mentioned installing drivers... did you by any chance upgrade the BIOS as well?

As you mentioned, it might be a problem with your video. Try re-seating your memory sticks. Remove any removable devices connected during boot up (cd's, usb sticks, floppys...)

As I mentioned the system will boot after several switch off and on. the beep is there at that time. It is the same with only cpu and stick connected to the board. If I remove the stick the beep( for not having the stick) is there.

It works fine once boot into windows... so may n't be a problem with video

    Hi,

I would try taking out all the ram and just boot with one stick installed at a time to see if it will work. If it works with one stick, try the next one and then the next, etc. I had a problem recently where my computer was doing a similar thing and it turned out that one of my ram sticks had gone bad. The computer would freeze up before POST frequently, but once I got into windows it would be fine. Once I removed the offending stick of ram, it worked and has worked with no more problems since.
