    Hi,

    I'm running a Core 2 Duo E6600, P965 chipset, currently with 2x1Gb Corsair XMS2 PC2-5300 RAM. (Part Num: CM2X1024-5400C4).

I want to add another 2Gb, but can't find any more of this exact memory, but can find the PC2 6400 version although this has timings CL5 ( 5-5-5-18 ) whereas mine is currently 5-5-5-15.
I can also find the Value Select version which does match my timings.

Which would be the better to buy? And is there any difference in getting 2x1Gb or 1x2Gb?

    Thanks

It would be best to get 1x2Gb if your motherboard suports 4Gb of ram with only two dimms, this will make it future proof if you want to add another 2Gb.

Find out what motherboard you have and then type it in on the corsair website.
