    Hi,
Once you use a video card does the IGP get used at all ?
For example - bought a new pc just for ubuntu, put in my old unused 1600xt instead of the integrated graphics so i could increase the screen resolution. I was just wondering if the in integrated card gets used at all now.

    Thanks

No, but the integrated card is still read through your O/S but isn't in use, unless you specify otherwise. You can switch displays in your resolution settings, which shows the display adapter currently being used (don't know how Linux would display it though). The dedicated card (1600xt) usually takes priority.
